Email Addresses

Vogt Visuals recommends and assists companies to manage their email through a stand-alone Google account, or through an organization's Google Apps account. Long story, short: thins means you can have all your email addresses managed under one roof. And the management is good. The nice thing is you can have multiple email addresses come into a single inbox, and when you respond, you respond with the same email addresses it was sent to. This is done through forwarding email addresses to a single Google Account.

Inbox

My inbox is my life.... I use it to manage what I have to do for you.  I work hard to have every email out of my inbox daily. Essentially I archive emails once they've been addressed and solved. This allows me to move on to other things, as well as have an archived copy which I can sort through and add responses to the chains. Having an inbox on the short and skinny isn't by accident. I use filters and labels too...

Labels

A label in Google Mail, is like a folder except you can apply multiple labels to a single email chain. Therefore, like a tagging system. These coupled with neat titles and colors (we're a visual company) allows me to see what's up with relative ease as well as the ability to sort and view labels regarding projects etc. You can even nest labels within labels such as Client Name > Account Details etc. Coupled with Filters we're off to the races!

Filters

Filters, you setup under Settings (gear icon) > Filters. You can have Google Mail automatically sort your incoming messages. Tired of getting facebook crap in your face? Simply create a FB label, get them to auto-apply and get them to auto-archive etc. I specifically use filters to cleanse what I receive, so when I check my mail - it's all important... I can always watch those euro-trance videos by checking ever growing labels....

Priority Inbox

This was amazing for me! Turning this option on, by the Inbox link, left sidebar, enables Google Mail to learn what's important and what's not. Stuff directed at me, stuff I respond to, becomes priority with what I see... stuff I archive, or don't even open etc becomes less of a priority. Back to working visually, this helps me tremendously as it moves the good stuff up top! The old problem of having newsletter emails in between important, respondable ones is finally solved! (I sometimes respond to newsletters too... if you're lucky).

Summary:

It's all good! I also use Google for their Docs and Calendars - especially in business. More on this later! Stay tuned sports fans.

The wonderful information age artists, over at SEO-MOZ, wrote out the following list.  A shopping-list of website requirements; any developer worth his salt must noticeably have satisfy at least a couple of them? Even if you're not a tech and don't know what an h1 tag is, you still can see if the "keyword".  Does the keyword apear in the a web address?  http://www.vogtvisuals.com/seo-vogt-visuals-style/ ?  What about the keyword being bold?  SEO ?  An image would make sense too...  with it as a alt tag.

Keyword: the targeted term satisfying your audience's connection to your content.  The best content right?

Personally, the tricky part isn't satisfying the ever changing requirements - it's picking the right terms to rock without loosing sight of your development's purpose.  How can you niche target as well stay open to the rest?  Actions speak louder than words, I blog about the stuff I'd like to be found out about; or more accurately, just share what's good to be found and people will find you.

The list:

• Use the keyword in the title tag at least once, and possibly twice (or as a variation) if it makes sense and sounds good (this is subjective, but necessary). Try to keep the keyword as close to the beginning of the title tag as possible. More detail on title tags follows later in this section.
• Once in the H1 header tag of the page.
• At least 3X in the body copy on the page (sometimes a few more times if there’s a lot of text content). You may find additional value in adding the keyword more than 3X, but in our experience, adding more instances of a term or phrase tends to have little to no impact on rankings.
• At least once in bold. You can use either the <strong> or <b> tag, as search engines consider them equivalent.
• At least once in the alt attribute of an image on the page. This not only helps with web search, but also image search, which can occasionally bring valuable traffic.
• Once in the URL. Additional rules for URLs and keywords are discussed later on in this section.
• At least once (sometimes 2X when it makes sense) in the meta description tag. Note that the meta description tag does NOT get used by the engines for rankings, but rather helps to attract clicks by searchers from the results page (as it is the “snippet” of text used by the search engines).
